He is currently the director of communications and development for Families &amp; Communities Rising, where he leads the organization\u2019s fundraising, marketing and public relations efforts. Formerly, Roberts served as the assistant women\u2019s basketball coach and recruiting coordinator at Appalachian State.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re excited to welcome Ray, who\u2019s returning, and Emily Jo, a new member to our Board of Directors,\u201d said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportstravelmagazine.com\/tag\/durham-sports-commission\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Durham Sports Commission<\/a> Executive Director <strong>Marcus Manning<\/strong>. \u201cTheir backgrounds and commitment to community impact make them tremendous assets to our organization. Their leadership will help guide us as Durham strives to be one of the best sports destination hubs in the country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Alongside these new appointments, the DSC has several board members taking on new roles. Stallings will serve as Board chair as <strong>Dr. Ingrid Wicker McCree<\/strong> steps into the immediate past chair role. Additionally, <strong>Ryan Craig<\/strong> was appointed vice chair and <strong>Jonathon Leach<\/strong> will serve as secretary\/treasurer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a tremendous privilege to serve as Chair of the Durham Sports Commission,\u201d said Stallings. \u201cAs we move into Season 10 of this incredible organization, I look forward to building on the strong foundation laid by my predecessors, including Dan Hill and Dr. Wicker McCree.
